Buchanan’s owned signed book: Guy Mannering or The Astrologer Volume II.Philadelphia: J. Maxwell, 1820. Hardcover, 4.25 x 7, 293 pages. Signed with an ownership signature at the top of the title page, “James Buchanan.” Book also bears a gift presentation on the first free-end page in an unknown hand, ”Harriat [sic] E. Buchanan Presented by her Brother James Buchanan.” In fair condition, with toning and soiling to signed page, heavier to opening and closing pages and both pastedowns, separated front hinge, scattered toning and rippling to inside pages, moderate wear and soiling to covers and spine, slight surface loss to covers, and crazing to spine.
