Vintage matte-finish 14.5 x 10.75 photo of President Roosevelt at his desk, accepting a six-foot model of the SS John Bidwell, presented to him by several dignitaries, signed in the lower border in fountain pen, “Franklin D. Roosevelt.” Nicely matted and framed to an overall size of 21.25 x 18.25. In fine condition, with a couple of scattered light surface creases. Surrounding Roosevelt are Admiral Howard L. Vickery, Calship representative Jack Adams, Geaham Spickard, and Calship’s vice president John A. McCone. The SS John Bidwell was launched on December 19, 1942, and transported troops to various foreign theaters for the remaining duration of the war.
