Pioneering American social activist (1820–1906) who was one of the leading figures in early feminism and whose efforts on behalf of women’s suffrage were instrumental in the ratification of the 19th Amendment in 1920. ALS, one page, 5.5 x 8.5, National Woman Suffrage Association letterhead, October 24, 1884. Short letter to an unidentified recipient. In full: “I trust the envelope, with your own pen tracks to guide it, will reach you safely.” In fine condition, with a mild shade of toning, a bit of trivial soiling to top, as well as a small pencil notation.
