#173 Lot 184 Declaration of Independence: Josiah Bartlett
ADS, signed in the text “Josiah Barlett,” one page, 7.5 x 3.25, November 27, 1770. Promissory note reads, “I promise to pay to Josiah Bartlett or order six shillings L: M: on demand with interest till paid for value Recd.” Signed at the conclusion by Joseph Taylor, with a witness signature along bottom. In very good condition, with central horizontal and vertical fold, one passing through a single letter of signature, uniform toning, paper loss to left edge, and some light mirroring from folding.
