Innovative French inventor and engineer who pioneered a number of developments in the earliest years of the film industry, including synchronous sound and color. Scarce ALS in French, signed “L. Gaumont,” one page, 5.25 x 7, July 15, 1931. An untranslated letter to Charles Le Fraper, founder and editor of the early film journal Courrier Cinematographique, mentioning an article in a recent issue relating to “du cinema parlant’ (talking pictures) and a similar article published in 1910 in the journal L’Illustration. In fine condition, with mild overall toning.
