#232 Lot 244 Edward Jenner
English scientist (1749–1823) who is widely credited as the pioneer of smallpox vaccine. Ink signature and sentiment, “To Mr. Large with Dr. Jenner’s Compls.,” on an off-white 4 x .75 slip. Affixed to the bottom of a larger page with his printed likeness. In very good condition, with soiling, wrinkling, and trimmed edges. A scarce signature of the man who is said to have saved more lives through his work than any other person.
