New Zealand physicist (1871-1937) who became known as the father of nuclear physics and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1908. Scarce fountain pen signature, “E. Rutherford,” on an off-white 3 x 1 slip, clipped from the closing of a letter. In fine condition. Accompanied by an unsigned 8 x 10 portrait.
