American physicist (1910–1989) and, more controversially, eugenicist, who won the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics for his development of the transistor. Original ink sketch of transistor on an off-white 5 x 3 card, signed and inscribed in black felt tip, “For Kris, W=Shockley 19 Mar 83.” In fine condition.
