#441 Lot 468 Gus Grissom

Astronaut (1926–1967) who perished in a flash fire during a test of the Apollo 1 command module that also claimed the lives of Roger Chaffee and Ed White. FDC, 6.5 x 3.75, bearing a four cent Project Mercury postage stamp and a February 20, 1962, Cape Canaveral postmark, signed in the top left corner in red ballpoint, “Gus Grissom.” In fine condition.
