Austrian-born Jewish writer (1888–1960) best known for her 1929 work, People at a Hotel, starring Greta Garbo, which was made into the Academy Award-winning film Grand Hotel. Signed book: Grand Hotel. Later printing. NY: Grosset and Dunlap, 1931. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.5 x 8.25, 309 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “To Albert Livingston Rabb, with best wishes, Vicki Baum.” In very good condition, with toning to signed page, inside pages, and both pastedowns, light wear to boards, slight sunning to spine, and toning, wear, and creases to clipped dustjacket.
