DS, signed “Truman Capote,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, Paramount letterhead, March 22, 1977. An agreement related to compensation for legendary Hollywood agent Irving “Swifty” Lazar to serve as Executive Producer for a television pilot based on Capote’s novel Breakfast at Tiffany’s. Signed on the second page in blue ballpoint, “Deal approved as above, Truman Capote.” Though the novel had earlier been adapted into a now-classic film starring Audrey Hepburn (1961), the TV series, needless to say, failed to set the airwaves on fire. Countersigned by Lazar. In fine condition, with mild toning and handling wear, and staple holes and associated tears to upper left corner of both pages. Unfortunately the pilot was never picked up by a network. Accompanied by a full letter of authenticity from PSA/DNA.
