#546 Lot 573 Morrill Cody

Diplomat and author (1901–1987) who served in the United States Foreign Service for over two decades, including under Edward R. Murrow at the USIA. Cody was a friend to Ernest Hemingway, and author of Hemingway's Paris.
Signed book: The Favorite Restaurants of an American in Paris. Later printing. France: Noveau Quartier Latin, 1966, with illustrations by Man Ray. Softcover, 4.75 x 7, 225 pages. Signed and inscribed on the first free end page, “For Mr. & Mrs. Henry Steeger, ‘You should be eating so well you Bastards! Irene & Carol.’ As for me—good luck! Morrill Cody, Paris, Dec. 8, 1967.” In very good condition, with a mild shade of toning to signed page, uniform toning to a section of inside pages, scattered creasing and soiling to covers and spine, and a small area of surface loss to front cover.
