Pianist and composer (1867–1944) who was the first successful American female composer of large-scale art music. AMQS on an off-white 5 x 6.25 off-white sheet. Beach pens two double bars from ‘Heart’s Ease,’ labeled at the top by Beach, “‘From Grandmother’s Garden,’ ‘Heart’s Ease,’” and signed and inscribed “For Mr. Donald R. Sutphin with best wishes of Mrs. H. H. A. Beach, July 15th, 1925.” Block of toning to upper right portion, otherwise fine condition.
