#715 Lot 747 Max Bruch

German composer (1838-1920) who wrote over 200 works, including three staples of the violin repertoire, including The 1st Violin Concerto, the ‘Scottish Fantasy’ (violin and orchestra) and his setting of the ‘Kol Nidrei.’ ALS in German, one page both sides, 4.5 x 7, April 19, 1875. Letter to a colleague. In part (translated): “Chance has led me to your area earlier than I thought…I’ll return to Bonn next week…I can visit you in Bingen…I look forward to seeing you again; perhaps I’ll also have the pleasure of meeting your bride.” Uniform mild toning and light show-through from writing on opposite side, otherwise fine condition.
