Signed book: The Babe Ruth Story. First edition. NY: E. P. Dutton and Co., 1948. Hardcover, 5.75 x 8.25, 250 pages. Signed on the half-title page in fountain pen, “Babe Ruth.” Uniform toning to signed page and remaining pages, loose, but intact hinges, owner’s signature to first free-end page and dedication page, scattered soiling to covers, and wear, fraying, and toning to spine, otherwise very good condition. Accompanied by a letter of authenticity from James Spence. Despite the physical flaws of the book, a nicely presented signature from the absolute twilight of Ruth’s career, as he would pass away in August of 1948.
