#1650 Lot 1708 Fractional Currency
Third issue 10 cent fractional Civil War currency. Measuring 3.25 x 2, and issued in 1863, currency features an oval portrait of George Washington. In fine condition. Fractional currency was first issued in 1862 as a response to widespread hoarding of small change during the Civil War.
