Union general (1826–1906) regarded as one of the ablest Federal commanders in the Western Theater. Wet plate, albumen 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo. Bust view in uniform with rank of brigadier general. Backmark: Morse's Gallery of the Cumberland, Nashville, Tennessee. In fine condition, with scattered light spotting and light rippling.
