Desirable wet plate, albumen 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo. Superb quality image of General William T. Sherman on horseback taken in 1864 during the Atlanta campaign. Cannon and fortifications can be seen to his right. No backmark. In fine condition, with an ink notation on the reverse.
