Wet plate, albumen 2.5 x 4 carte-de-visite photo. Famous, highly-desirable full-length portrait of General R.E. Lee in his Confederate general's uniform, with sash, holding gloves, and his famed Maryland presentation sword which was made by Devisme of Paris. Backmark: Vannerson & Jones, Richmond, Virginia. In fine condition, with light toning and mild silvering to the darker areas of the image.
