^Lot 148 1914 Kay Nielsen "THE THREE PRINCESSES IN THE BLUE MOUNTAIN" print

This marvelous circa 1914, in full color tipped-in plate is from perhaps the most beautiful children's book ever published titled, "East of the Sun and West of the Moon. Old Tales from the North". The artist is Kay Nielsen, and the plate was used to illustrate the many norse tales in the book. The plate here is a preparatory ink and watercolor style, it is still attached to the page. The image is 5 1/4" x 7" the mat is 11" x 14" and is ready to frame.
