Silver alloy-mounted gaucho type knife from South America, possibly Argentina, 19th century. Blade marked “Acier Fondu” (Made of Steel). With name and makers mark “Mence __” the rest illegible. The blade shows some
sharpening, minor pitting. There is a small gold inlay in the grip and the initials “IF” carved upon it. Original scabbard with matching mounts. Generally good overall.
