Lot 136 E. Loomis Marked Half Stock Percussion Rifle with German Silver Inlaid Stock
Globe front sight, dovetail slot for a rear sight, and a folding tang peep sight with the top of the barrel marked "E. LOOMIS". According to firearms expert Frank Sellers in AMERICAN GUNSMITHS, E. Loomis was a gunsmith from Mt. Morris, New York. Sellers also identifies Earl Loomis who was also a New York gunsmith. Scroll engraved lock plate and hammer and light engraved brass buttplate and trigger guard. The stock has several German silver inlays including a stag, dog and fox. The engraved patch box is German silver.

Condition: Very good. The barrel retains 20% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The brass has an even aged patina. The wood is good with a cracked forearm and some minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
