^Lot 137 Jos. Tegg/Davidson & Co. Cincinnati Marked Heavy Barrel Half Stock Percussion Rifle

The lock is marked "T.DAVIDSON & CO/CINCINNATI O" ahead of the hammer and has an engraved wooded hunting scene behind the hammer. The top barrel flat behind the rear sight is marked "JOS. TEGG". The heavy barrel is equipped with a globe front and adjustable rear sporting sight, and solid under rib. Double set triggers, brass finger grip trigger guard, wooden ramrod and fitted with a walnut straight grip half stock with a crescent brass buttplate, with a pewter forend cap. The ramrod is secured by three brass pipes. Complete with a wooden barrel plug

Condition: Good. The barrel has a smooth brown patina, the lock and hammer have a smooth grayish patina and the brass has an aged patina. Two of the ramrod pipes have been soldered in place. The stock is good with a pieced in repair on the right side ahead of the lock, the stock has been broken and repaired at the wrist with the break extending from the comb to the front of the trigger guard. There are three moderate cracks on the toe and a couple ahead of the lock. The stock remains solid. The action is very good.
