Lot 169 British Retailer Marked Colt Police Positive Double Action Revolver with Case
Manufactured in 1911, this pre-WWI Police Positive Revolver has British proofs on the barrel, frame, and cylinder flutes. The top strap has a retailer marking: "W.R. Pape,/Newcastle-upon-Tyne". The left side of the frame has the Rampant Colt in front of the stylized "C". The top of the barrel has the two line address/patent dates and the left side of the barrel has the model/caliber marking. The grips are checkered with "COLT" embossed at the top. Complete with a wooden partitioned case lined in purple felt, with a glass oiler.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 90% plus original blue finish with the grip straps thinning to a brown and extensive scattered minor handling marks overall. The grips are very fine with some scattered handling marks. The checkering is crisp overall. Mechanically excellent. The case is good with a number of moderate bruises and some chipping along the edges. The lock is missing and the interior is missing a piece of wood.
