^Lot 226 Excellent Colt First Series Woodsman Sport Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Box

Manufactured in 1934. The left side of the barrel is marked with the two line address/1903 and 1918 patent dates, the left side of the frame is marked "THE WOODSMAN", the left side of the slide "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt. The serial number is marked on the front strap and the upper left front of the trigger guard is marked with the letter "W" over the Colt "VP" triangle proof, with "12" on the opposite. Fixed front blade and windage adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, the back strap is marked with the series of horizontal parallel lines indicating the pistol was designed for high velocity .22 Long rifle ammunition, two tone Colt marked magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips. Comes with the correct maroon hinged lid box numbered to another gun.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 99% original blue finish with some minor muzzle and edge wear. The grips are also excellent with a couple minor dings and sharp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The box is fair plus with a couple small pieces absent and crude corner repairs.
