Lot 440 Two Randall Fighting Knives, Including a Solingen Production Combat Companion, with Sheaths
1) Randall Model 14 Attack CDT knife, 7 1/2 inch carbon steel blade with a 3 inch false edge and standard Orlando address markings. German silver guard, with a stag grip, alloy pommel, and leather thong. OAL: 12 1/2 inches. With a brown leather Randall sheath and sharpening stone. 2) Vietnam-era Solingen Production Randall Combat Companion knife. Due to a sharp spike in sales during the Vietnam War, Randall contracted out the production of blade blanks to a German firm, to be hand finished and assembled in Orlando, a practice that came to a halt shortly after the war. 5 1/2 inch stainless steel blade with a 3 1/2 inch false edge, marked "RANDALL MADE/SOLINGEN" and "S" on the left side. Brass oval guard, with a smooth wood grip and brass pommel plate. OAL: 10 1/4 inches. With a Randall "12 6" sheath and sharpening stone.
