^Lot 1665 Steyr "bnz/44" Code Model 98 Bolt Action Krieg model Rifle

Blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters, with "3351" over a proofmark stamped on the base. The chamber is marked "bnz/44" on the top with the right side having two proofmarks. The left receiver wall is marked "Mod. 98". The barrel is marked with the serial number along with a Nazi firing proof on the left rear side with the right side marked "DL" and "bnz/1" shield. All stamped parts with the barrel bands correctly screwed to the stock. The rifle has a one piece laminated stock with a cupped buttplate featuring the firing pin hole and an eagle/swastika over "H" stamped on the right rear.

Condition: Very fine. The receiver, bolt and floor plate retain 95% original blue finish with some wear on the bolt and some thinning and light spotting on the floor plate. The barrel, trigger guard and barrel bands have a brown patina with some minor oxidation on the barrel bands. The stock is fine as modified (duffle bag or G.I. cut forend of the stock) with a few minor chips and overall a few minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
