Lot 3069 U.S. Asa Waters Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol

Manufactured from 1836 to 1844. Blade front and groove rear sights, with "JH/P" on the upper left side of the barrel. The lock plate is marked with an eagle head over "A. WATERS/MILBURY, MS/1843". Smooth stock, with a swiveling ramrod, iron furniture, a pair of cartouches on the left side, and a metal buttcap. The last U.S. martial flintlock pistol, the 1836 was standard issue during the Mexican War, with many converted to percussion and used during the Civil War.

Condition: Very good. The pistol has a mottled gray patina with some pin point pitting. The stock is fine with a few hairline cracks present on the left side near the lock plate screw with some other scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
