Lot 3335 Extremely Rare and Attractive Cornwall Kirkpatrick Mound City Production Salt Glazed Stoneware Jar
Made circa 1857-1859 in Mound City, Illinois by Cornwall Kirkpatrick, who would later moved to Anna, Illinois along with his brother and become a founder and owner of Anna Pottery. Measuring 6 1/4 inches wide and 9 3/8 inches tall, with a fine gray salt glaze applied with albany brown clay glazed interior, with a lightly rolled edge to the flat topped lip and "C. Kirkpatrick & Co./MOUNDCITY" in cobalt blue ink on the front.
