Lot 3343 Impressive Ten Gallon Salt Glaze Slave Jug
Circa 1850s, this large piece measures 21 1/2 inches high with an approximate 15 inch diameter and the fill hole on the top measures 2 inches in diameter. There are two robust handles at the top. The jug is marked on the front with the number "10" with four underline marks and a flower decoration below in a dark blue color. There is a spigot hole on the bottom edge below the flower decoration which retains an old cork plug. No makers marks are present. Possibly from the Midwestern U.S.
