Lot 3439 Early Production Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun
Manufactured in 1887, the first year of production. Single bead sight on a choked modified barrel marked with the "WP" proof on the left side at the breech. The left side of the receiver has the "WRACo" monogram with the serial number on the underside of the receiver and the three line address followed by the one line patent dates marking is stamped on the lower tang. Smooth two-slab forearm and pistol grip stock with checkered steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 inches.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel and magazine retain 75% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown gray patina. The receiver, hammer and lever retain 50% original case colors. There is some mild pitting. The wood is fine with much of the original varnish, and a number of minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
