Lot 3739 WWI U.S. Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol
Manufactured in 1918. The left side of the slide has the two line, two block patent dates and Hartford address along with a Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The right side of the slide has the model marking. The left side of the frame is marked with the U.S. property marking along with a John M. Gibert "JMG" inspector marking and the right frame side has the "No." style serial number. Barrel chamber marked "P" and "H" with the hammer slot marked "H". Smooth trigger, checkered hammer and slide stop, and flat mainspring housing. Fitted with contemporary checkered grips with the diamond pattern around the screws. According to the consignor, the pistol was shipped to the Springfield Armory on May 13, 1918.
