Lot 3808 Excellent Early Post-War Colt Super Model 38 Semi-Automatic Pistol with Original Box and Holster

Exceptional example manufactured in 1948. Standard fixed sights, with the Hartford address on the left side of the slide and "COLT" "SUPER .38/ AUTOMATIC" on the right next to the Rampant Colt. Serrated hammer, trigger and arched mainspring housing, with checkered brown plastic grips. In a Colt box correctly numbered to the gun. Includes an original Colt, instruction sheet/parts diagram, a GI WWII leather holster marked "U.S.", and a partial box of Winchester Super Speed .38 Auto Colt ammunition.

Condition: Excellent with 98% plus original blue finish. There are two small scratches near the slide stop, some slight marks on the front strap and top of the slide, and some cycling wear on the barrel and recoil spring housing of the slide. The grips and box of ammunition are also excellent. The matching number maroon box is very good plus with the corners intact, excellent color overall with a couple of creases/marks on the sides. The end label is 95% intact with the end coming unglued. The only issue is that the paper hinge has separated from the lid but this could be easily repaired. The holster is very good.
