Composer, conductor, and musical theorist (1896–1981) who was winner of the Rome, Pulitzer, and Peabody awards. Glossy 10 x 8 photo, signed and inscribed in blue ink “To Robert Merritt Alton, with all best wishes, Howard Hanson.” Some scattered light creases and surface marks, surface loss to both edges, and a few brushes to signature, otherwise fine condition.
