Ukrainian-born dancer and choreographer (1905–1986) who takes a place among the most esteemed figures in twentieth-century ballet. Signed book: La Vie en Images de Serge Lifar. Paris: R. A. Correa, 1937. Softcover, 9 x 11. Gorgeously signed in fountain pen on the first free-end page, Lifar adds a full page, original ink drawing of a scroll bearing three smaller sketches of dancers and choreographic directions, set against a mountain and setting sun, dated Paris, 1937. In very good condition, with light toning, some mild smudging to the signature page, mirroring to the reverse side of the front cover, the front hinge loose, but intact, and some mild creasing to the covers and spine.
