^Lot 1286 Marilyn Monroe and Joe DiMaggio

Spectacular vintage ballpoint signatures, “Best wishes, Joe DiMaggio,” and “Love & Kisses, Marilyn Monroe” on the reverse of a 3.5 x 2.5 high school snapshot. In very good condition, with scattered creases and light spoiling, none of which detract from the bold signatures, and some tape remnants and surface loss to image side. According to the consignor, the woman pictured in this photo happened upon Monroe and DiMaggio in an airport in 1954. She managed to approach the couple for an autograph, with the only thing available for them to sign was the back of her high school yearbook photo. This item represents just the third DiMaggio/Monroe signed item we have ever offered.
