^Lot 1451 James J. Braddock

American Boxing Hall of Famer (1905–1974) who was heavyweight champion of the world from 1935 to 1937 and whose career was dramatized in the Oscar-nominated 2005 film, Cinderella Man. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Braddock striking a pugilistic pose, signed and inscribed in black ballpoint “To Pat, with best wishes, your old sparring partner 1927, Jim Braddock.” In very good condition, with light overall skipping and irregular ink adhesion to signature and inscription, scattered surface impressions, and a ding to left edge.
