Lot 82 1976 s PCGS Silver Proof Bicentennial Set #4 of 150 President Gerald R. Ford *three coins*
Up for your consideration is this historical 1976 PCGS Gerald R. Ford three coin Silver Bicentennial set.
The set consists of all three coins all three are #4 of 150.
According to the informaion we've gathered over the years.
#4 is the lowest set can be had outside the Ford family.
Set 1,2,3 were given to President Ford when these were made.
Set #4 was sold at auction for charity and fetched big $ as one can only imagine.
Set's #5 thru 19 were given to members of congress and other "important" figures set #20 onward was sold to the general public with set #20 being auctioned as 3 single coins.
Set #20 was broken up in c.2005 with two of the three pieces being reunited by us Dec.2011, with the third coin being loctaed March,2012 for a three coin unification now possible.
The only set possible in the foreseeable future after this one will be set #20
In the 11 years since these were made I have never seen a set LOWER than ones in the 70's.
I'm not going to get into a thousand accolades about this set, this is one of those rare cases I'll let the coins do the talking.
Starting bid start at $1000 with a reserve slightly below the low estimate.
