Silver presentation goblet hallmarked London 1905. Inscribed "Militia Rifle Association Revolver Cup 1905, won by Col. Sir W. H. Mahon, Bart D.S.O., 4th Bn. West Yorkshire Regiment". Colonel Sir William Henry Mahon of Castlegar Co. Galway, was born in 1856 and served during the Boer War where he was awarded the Distinguished Service Order while commanding the 4th West Yorkshire Regiment. He was also Deputy Lieutenant for County Galway and died in 1926. The diaries and papers of W. H. Mahon are held by the National Library of Ireland (9oz)
