ABBASID: al-Saffah, 749-754, AR dirham (2.81g), Dimashq, AH135, A-211, lovely strike, some unobtrusive discoloration, mostly on reverse, Very Fine, RR, ex. Robert Pelletreau collection. This type is one of very few Abbasid silver dirhams that retains the Damascene calligraphic style of the Umayyad dirham.
