CIVIC COPPER: AE falus (7.95g), Peshawar, AH1248, A-A3253, inscriptions only, mint name repeated on both sides, very clear date, Very Fine, RRR. Peshawar was under the authority of Sultan Muhammad Tila'i, who struck anonymous silver rupees AH1247-1250 and did not recognize the Barakza'i chief, Dost Muhammad Khan. Early in AH1250 Peshawar was conquered by the Sikhs. Dost Muhammad Khan briefly seized Peshawar and struck copper coins there in AH1265, but lost it to the British later that year.
