U.S. Model 1817 Flintlock musket converted to percussion with lock dated 1835, .69 cal. smooth bore, in near fine original condition with cartouched wood stock. The arsenal conversion shows a nipple screwed directlyinto the barrel along with brass insert at top of lock where pan was removed when converted. The metal surfaces show their original arsenal bright finish with just some minor pinprick pitting just starting, thelock and hammer show original color; the edges on the stock are crisp, 2 full cartouches "TWandEB"; an original ramrod is included, markings sharp, action crisp. Would be hard to improve upon; a strong 9 on1 to 10 scale. Est.: $1,500-$2,000
