J. N. Scott, St. Louis signed double barrel percussion shotgun, 12 gauge, 34" barrels, 50" overall, in very good original condition showing a brown patina finish, scattered light to moderate erosion; good checkeredwood stocks, some minor, dings, mars, scratches and small losses, but stocks at least good to very good. The actions are good, the nipples are old period replacements fashioned from brass. The barrel andactions are nicely engraved with makers name and St. Louis, also fine twist. The gun would date 1840s-1860s and just the type that headed west with the Hawken rifle. Est.: $600-$1,200
