Pair of American side hammer percussion single shot pistols with bag shaped grips, serial #84 and #85 at the breeches, of the type made by Marston Blunt and Syms, but unmarked. The pistols measure 8" overallwith 4" octagon barrels, the barrels are approximately .36 cal. smooth bore; pistol #85 shows 50-70% old nickel finish which is drifting and areas where finish has lifted show some pitting. The grips are good with a couple small losses, normal aging. Its mate, #84, shows traces of nickel drifting to a gray patina, with good grips. Just the type favored by miners during the California gold rush. Est.: $400-$800
