Lot 724 English Adams DA percussion revolver with rare and desirable period Agent’s marking on top of fram

English Adams DA percussion revolver with rare and desirable period Agent’s marking on top of frame “MADE EXPRESSLY FOR HYDE & GOODRICH NEW ORLEANS”, .36 cal., 4” octagon barrel, engraved frame, blue finish, checkered wood grips, #1046. This gun is in overall very good condition showing traces of original blue finish in protected areas with balance gone to a brown patina; some traces of case colors on the loading lever, goodrifling in bore, crisp action, sharp markings, very good grips. These guns were popular in the South during the Civil War and any Hyde & Goodrich marked revolver is highly sought after by collectors of CivilWar and Confederate States artifacts; most were “ridden hard and put up wet”; this one is one of the better ones we’ve seen in some time. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
