Pair of high quality Belgian side hammer folding trigger muff type pistols in fine condition, showing AF stamp on bottom of barrel, "August Francotte", with Belgian proofs, #46. The pair measure 8-1/4"overall, with 3-1/2" medium weight octagon barrels of approximately .48 cal. smooth bore. The barrels show a brown striped finish, the locks, hammers and frame are case hardened. The pistols have retained 85-95%of their rich original finishes, just starting to tone and age. The grips are a select fruitwood with a matched grain. There a few storage marks and scratches, but the condition is very good+ to nearly fineoverall. The frames are nicely engraved with scrolls and a cornucopia on left side. Francotte was one of the top European makers in his time. Est.: $1,000-$2,000
