Springfield Model 1878 Trapdoor rifle, .45-70 cal., #233738, cartouched and dated 1888 in fine to excellent condition with NGP marked cartridge box, excellent original manual dated 1898 for the Springfield, Rifle Carbine and Army Revolvers along with 3 Springfield tools, enameled eagle pin badge, sling and cleaning rod. Rifle shows 92-98% original blue, thinning just slightly with 90-95% case hardening on breech block, crisp wood withjust a few minor storage marks and minimal aging. The markings are sharp and crisp, the bore bright, and the rifle shows very little to almost no use. A pristine example with correct to the period accessories included.Est.: $1,600-$3,200
