Lot 1102 Remington .41 cal. O/U derringer showing 2-line E Remington & Sons address, finely New York style

Remington .41 cal. O/U derringer showing 2-line E Remington & Sons address, finely New York style scroll engraved, pearl grips, silver plated with blue accents, serial #208, circa about 1868 to early 1870s. Thederringer retains approximately 60-80% original finish with most of the loss on the frame and most of the finish still retained on the barrels. The metal is just slightly discolored with beginning age, some smallareas of pinprick pitting. The grips are very good+, the hammer and ejector show most of their bright original blue. The hinges are unbroken and the markings are sharp, the bores are very good with just some slightareas of aging. The engraving is more deluxe than normally found, and of the style attributed to L. D.
