Colt Model 1878 DA frontier revolver, .44-40 cal., 7-1/2" etched barrel, nickel finish, hard rubber grips, serial #19959. The revolver shows approximately 50-70% original nickel with a fully visible etched panel.The metal surfaces show light cleaning long ago and some minor erosion and pinprick pitting. The front sight is slimmed very slightly, the etched panel is 90%+. The grips are good with slight edge wear, smallparts and screws show some original finish. The cylinder pin is an old replacement. The back of the hammer shows bright original blue, the bore is very good+ and still bright. A nice frontier with an exceptionaletched panel. Est.: $1,750-$3,500
