Winchester-Lee .236 cal. straight pull, U. S. Navy marked on breech with anchor, number 6371, inspected by N C T; in first contract series, but may have seen action in Cuba during the Spanish American War. The rifleremains in good condition with 50-70% blue, a thick coating of clear lacquer which has dried and turned brown. The tang is mounted with a M.S.A. Co Gladstone Michigan, October 20, 1908 dated tang sight, with matching bead front sight placed in the original base. The left side of the frame shows 2 drilled and tapped holes for sight; the stock is good, also has been lacquered, some dings, mars, scratches, generally good overall. The bore is good and looks like it would clean; there is a swivel missing from the front of the magazine, and a swivel missing from the base in the butt stock. The markings on the breech are sharp.
